Probably expensive, at least to start off. It looks like an attempt to give people an upgradeable graphics system as much as a lighter notebook.

There is also indications of new CPUs coming out from IBM and Intel, both are trying to create stacked processors, ones with the CPUs on top of each other rather than side by side. That should hopefully be coming through late this year or sometime next.

Then there is a rumour that IBM is trying to put water cooling inside a CPU using tiny channels buried in the chip.

ATi was working on a Mini-PCIe at one point.  I think they had nVidia on board as well. Wouldnt be interested to see if they actually managed to get anywhere with it.
