New line basically held onto the money they owed everyone from the movies basically, actors had to push them and a couple force legal action to get them to pay up, We all know of the Jackson and his team issues due to the fact they were not given what they were owed properly and so this would be no surprise if new line failed to pay the Tolkien estate their money either.
It will get sorted, just seems New Line have been real idiots about paying everyone and went money mad from what they made from the movies

Greedy bastards they grossed over $6billion world wide for the trilogy so you would think paying people what they are owed wouldnt be a problem.
