Quote from: SmugsOn the subject of Captain jack and having not seen the first episode does it explain how he gets back from the future at all?

No, all it really explains is that hes been alive since the war, hasnt aged and can survive being shot in the head. Most of the rest of it is removing one character who only appears in that episode anyway and introductions.

[edit] she was back for a later one where they revived her. [/edit]

Just watched episode 10 recorded on Sunday and TBH it was boring, switched it off after 30 minutes.

Subject start was interesting enough, plane from 1953 turns up at airport having flown through a time rift but from that point the script got bogged down with nowhere really to go. it might have been okay as a sideline for another story but not in itself.

It also really shows up Torchwoods lack of staff, the team should never have gotten involved in this beyond the initial incident, support staff should have handled most of it.

When I initially read that part I was thinking "yeah, they must have a really small script writing team". Then I saw the rest of the statement and thought "ah".

Quixoticish

Having watched it run its course and having been initially very excited by this show its getting a little tedious now and the bad script writing is shining through. Im also a little sick of the fact that everyone is blatantly bisexual in a desperate effort to make it a little bit more "adult". It feels really forced and tacky.

I dont know why I didnt see this initially; I guess Im just a sucker for anything Dr Who related. (Excepting our current, rather bad version).

Sweenster

Mix queer as folk and doctor who and you get torchwoord

seems russel t davies doesnt have much of a repertoire

It had so much potential and turned into a sex drama with a bit of weirdness chucked in.

If it wasnt shot in cardiff i wouldnt still be watching it

Until that they had some pace, some adult soap content and some sci-fi. Then they just lost everything. The script should never have been used.

They are really using sex too much as well.

The team should be five people at least, a technician, a doctor, exobiologist, forensics expert and team leader. Preferably they shoud have spares so someone can get killed off without problem, The red shirted security guards in Star Trek had a dual purpose.

They have one support person when there should be at least 20, preferably 30. Support needs to work 24/365.

Really there should be at least three teams too.
