Title: Trivial, but it makes me happy :D
Post by: soopahfly on February 10, 2010, 16:54:50 PM
Its probably best to describe my equipment as archaic.  Some of the stuff Tony Robinson would find fascinating.

My main PC is a HP Proliant ML115 (G1) Upraded with an AMD 4450e CPU and 5GB Ram.
4X HDDs, 3xSata, 1xIDE, and a Pioneer 111D Burner.
The CPU wont run at its max speed as the bios wont go as high as 11.5x

I made a small breakthrough today.
For months Ive been trying to get my 6600GT graphics card working in it, so I can use something other than the Matrox G200e Server Engines graphics card.
Ive not wanted to do anything other than get my monitor working at its correct resolution.

The bios wouldnt allocate any resources to the 6600GT, so it seemed I was SOL.
I thought.......Would an ATI card be any different?

Saw an X700 128mb card on ebay for less than a fiver posted so I figured, what the hell.

It only bloody works.
1440x900.  A resolution I could only dream about.

Now to find a PCI Soundcard for this thing, and Im happy.

Lol, its not quite that bad.

Ive got a soundcard here, but its keyed to 3.3v.  The motherboard is keyed to 5v.

Or the other way around.
