Title: Ubuntu - tft outa range
Post by: Pete on December 18, 2006, 17:07:33 PM
I just tried to install ubuntu 6.10 but my screen goes out of range. Im guessing it is the refresh rate because Ive tried booting in vga mode off the cd and it does the same thing.

Anyone know a fix? Ive looked but cant see anything that makes sense beyond buy a new monitor.

$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

if that doesnt work, a search at ubuntuforums.org should sort you.

tfts arent nearly as touchy about input as are tubes, theres probably a very easy fix for this.

Also, I find 6.06 to be far more  stable than 6.10, the former being the LTS or "long  term support" version. If you want new packages, you can just use backports. :D
