For some reason tonight I had a scene from a film stuck in my head.. no idea about name, plot, actors etc but just this scene!

Name it and save me going insane. Flatmate is stuck aswell :)

Going underwater in a bathtub trying to increase how long can hold breath and using a burning cigerrette as a gage.

I know the one, its something similar to The Rock, where someone is trying to escape from a prison island, they have to cut off their fingerprint to use on an access panel too..? :?

Ahh could be, yes!

I remember he has a really narrow window in which to escape, like 20 seconds or something, and there is an underwater laser net too.

Plot Summary for
Double Team (1997)
Counter-terrorist Jack Quinn misses his target, Stavros, on the eve of his final mission. From there, he is sent to "The Colony", a rebirth for presumed-dead assassins. He breaks free from there, and seeks the aid of Yaz, a weapons dealer, for his final battle with Stavros.


Except I confused it with AWOL as well :) (AWOL = the one where he comes from the french legion to underground boxing rings to find his brothers killer.)

Its just got some cool bits in it, not an overly great film really, just cool. The whole escape and some of the action bit etc.
Of course there is the strange tall Basketball player in it
