Basically a friend is asking buying advice from me, and from another mate of hers.

Weve each come up with a suggestion.
Budget is £400 absolute max including Keyboard, Monitor and Mouse.  Thats all we have to play with.

Id go for the HP

x2 should be faster than the celron dual core... and it has a nice screen....

If they just want it for basic stuff & not gaming, have they considered a laptop
& get a montior, kb, mouse & a port replicator?

Shes already got a laptop, I suggested this but shes just been given £500 by the insurance company to replace her old PC, so shes wanting a new desktop.  

The HP one is a much better spec for an extra £50 and it all looks nicer and has the monitor. If I wanted a quick replacement base unit jobbie, Id get that.

I think that people who sit in the middle lane should be euthanized with a baseball bat to the face.
