OK, have a Media Center PC hooked up to my tv.   I am connecting via the DVI output on the video card into the VGA input on the back of my LCD.  My LCD is a 720p 26" LG.  The TV does not have a DVI input, but does have a HDMI socket.   Would there be any point, or any improvement to the picture going into the tv if I was to get a DVI to HDMI cable and have the input signal going in that way?  Only hi-def stuff I have is the odd hi-def .mkv film.

HDMI = digital is it not?

VGA = Analog...

So DVI - VGA = analog signal.

DVI - HDMI = digital signal.

Would imagine there is next to no difference in quality but there may be in theory.

would recommend getting a gfx card with hdmi out. Then youd get a better picture as well as HDCP negotiation.
