Title: Viewsonic 2216w
Post by: Beaker on May 17, 2008, 10:31:26 AM
Just a quick one (as we have no reviews section :p )

Picked one of these up a couple of weeks back as the old Digimate finally died.  I was after something better, but unfortunatly the budget refused to be stretched (Im moving house atm).  Im actually pleasantly surprised.  The screen itself doesnt suffer from ghosting, the image quiality is actually pretty good, and the colour reproduction is as good as the HP and Dells we have at work.  The minuses to it are that the screen itself arent height adjustable, and the screen only has a VGA input.  I would have preferred a DVI input, but I needed a screen there and then.  The viewing angle is also pretty damned good.  looking at the screen from about 15* the picture is visible, and the colours are right.  No problems where.  The minus is the brightness, its not as bright as some people may like, but its a computer screen, and the only time ill watch films on it are sat in front while im doing something else.  Also its a Matt-Finish screen, so again some people may dislike.

Bascially, im pretty happy with the cost.  Especially as the PC World monkey discounted it because the 1st screens i picked out they didnt have in stock (A couple of Acer screens, and an LG).  £150 for the screen, the same price ive found it online.

If you want a screen on a budget then you could do much much worse.
