up yours bt availability checker!
on: April 03, 2009, 22:05:24 PM
Moved house last week, BT cocked up my business broadband move - so I was without internet for a week, and got billed for over a years worth of internet - but its all sorted now.

I had actually considered not moving here, even though it is a fantastic house in the country - because I work from home and need some sort of speed for asterisk purposes, and for the myriad of vpns I have running from my checkpoint.

ANYWAY - availability checker said at most I could get was 250 kbit (And it was unlikely Id get adsl at all), here I am with over 2 meg - yeoooooooo

If you want faster can bond 2-8 adsl/ntl lines together ...costs though.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

But with 2 lines you have 2 IPs and as Mark is using VPNs Id imagine hed be able to specify the data comes from x IP and not y IP but it might just screw up if it comes from both.

you can use a checkpoint VPN in a load balancing or active/failover setup - max 2 links in the version (NGX R65) that I use

We got vpns going over bonded solutions. £600 box and a few quid a month though.
