I've always just used the windows vpn before, but it's a pain in the arse to get working now

tried everything I can think of / google

anyone have any recommendations for a different vpn program ?

it's win7 to win7, both ways  (work to home and home to work) but when needed

Really? It's about 2 minutes to setup?

New connection, assign a user, go in to tcpip and setup IP assignment, port forward one port on the router?

Edit: sorry I can't provide anything useful to answer your question :-)

If you are still having issues, happy to have a look if you want? Can just send over a remote assistance request?

I *think* sky have messed with with my router since taking over BeUnlimited

it was working for months fine, then I couldn't connect to work (from home) ... then a week later I couldn't connect to home (from work)

I didn't change anything... and I've cancelled/removed everything, and started again about 6 times now... still no different :-(

my routers were crashing pretty regularly while this was going on, and I had to do a hard reset one day... after a google it turns out sky had been trying to update it and had botched it (that time anyway)

any time I try to connect, I get to the username/password screen, it hangs there for a while, and then disconnects :)

Just had a quick google, and yeah, sounds like sky are the cause, sounds like you need a new router. Not sure different software will help.

Just another thought, if it is the router, then you could change in to modem mode, and use another one you have lying around, if you have one.

Open VPN is free, but looks to be a bit of a PITA to setup

I'm going to get fiber at work soon, and I'm moving soon so will get fiber at home then, so I've been trying to hold off upgrading the routers for now

tho they're cheap enough, so maybe I should just bite the bullet and order two!
