Title: Watching Videos causes Slow down
Post by: Coded on September 23, 2006, 15:41:39 PM
Anytime i watch a video file on my PC it causes massive slowdown on my PC, 99% cpu usage by the player (ive used wmplayer, media player classic and nero showtime), after i close it down it still goes slowly untill i end process in task manager.

This only happened after i formatted, so i formatted again but the problems still there. Could it be a virus or something?

Cheers for any help.

Check your HDDs are running in DMA mode, not PIO.

Also, could try sticking on new video drivers and possibly codecs.  My video playback went screwy once after my GFX decided it didnt like the new drivers.

Simple Me, as soon as i finished that i thought of the drivers and it was them.

NGO Drivers were the problem.
