I ordered one of the dell 20" Widescreens, i did a site and got the cash so i took the plunge.
I know Dell will be bringing out new ones soon, but these aint nothing to sniff at at all.

Cant wait.

Theyre very nice, just hope you dont get one with the common back light issue.  Mine has it, its quite a subtle issue, but its there on mine.

SteveF

Good choice :)

Walrus, dont tell him what to look for just in case... If noone tells you eactly what to look for on a monitor you tend not to see the faults.

Used to use a Sony trinitron monitor for years before someone pointed out the two horizontal grating supports right in the middle of the screen which ruined it for me and could always see them after that.

Same with the heaters in car windscreens.  Once someone points them out you can see them :(

Im torn between waiting for nec to bring out a bigger version of that 20WGX2 and just getting one of them

cant justify a computer upgrade atm though, not even the new toy factor can :(

hope you enjoy the dell though  :D

If you ever do take a single 24" screen as it does High def video. :)

Im waiting for my 22" CRT to die, then a 24" widescreen will be mine. The 30" is tempting but it also looks so big as to be impractical.

SteveF

yeah I played around with the 30" apple screen (same as dell) and I actually found it weird to use...  It felt a bit like you were sitting too close to the television and couldnt take it all in.

The 24" ones work really well but Id definitely say try the 30" first as personally I didnt like it as a computer monitor.  Would make a kick ass tv though :)

Serious

For games use the bigger the better IMO.

Dave

Quite fancy the 24" one - IIRC that was the one sam got - pretty impressive monitor

Leon

Shame the price jump from 20" to 24" is so large :(
