the PC I built for my mother broke.... so Ive built her another one....

fress install on a fresh HD, and have the old system HD in as a second drive temporerly while I set it up....

she only uses IE for the web and outlook express for email

Ive copied accross her old emails... and favs for IE..... but can I copy accross the email accounts ?

so save me having to boot from the old HD, having to write everything down then doing it manualy.... and probably ballsing it up a few times etc...

mmmm, booting up from the old drove, then going to use the file and settings transfer wizzard.... hopefully thatll do it :)

tho if anyone knows an easier way it would be handy to know for future referance....

google told me how to do it via regedit.... just i dont know how to get into the reg file of a HD im not booting from....  maybe could have googled it... but it looked like a long nasty way to do it anyway :(

IIRC they are in :

c:\documents and setting\%username%\local settings\application data\Microsoft
there should be an OE folder inside there that has some DAB(?) files that are named after your inbox folders.  Not 100% on that as im not using my windows box atm.

Thats just the emails themselves Beaker, hes after all the email accounts setup info.

Alan if you go to the Accounts screen there is an export option from there. Just export the .iaf file or whatever it is, copy across, reimport.

yeah nige thats what I did in the end

was just hopeing I could nick em from a folder on the HD without having to boot up from that HD....... didnt want it installing a load of drivers ment for the new system on the old system HD when Im going to try and get the old system going agan :(
