A friend is looking at getting a Blackberry.

Which model would be best for.........

Smallish
Good organiser
Calendar
Email and web browsing ( POP3 I think)
Camera
etc........

We were looking at the Blackberry 8100 Pearl anyone recommened?

Mark

Ive just been given the blackberry pearl at work to replace my last handset - it ticks all those boxes.

Works better in an enterprise environment obviously. In fact, youd be mad to get one outside of an enterprise unless you have a private exchange server.

Sweenster

that is the problem i am encountering Mark

all the advanced functionality of mobile devices require some form of exchange server

which outside of the business world isnt often seen

Kunal

We use+market the Pearls at work - excellent phones.

I got an Imate PDA2k Pocket PC that ticks all those boxes.
Also got a n73 with 3 + X-Series.. that also ticks those boxes & a lot more..

saynor

Whats 3 and x-series?

I am getting a N73 next month.

I am getting a N73 next month.
3 is the service provider (ie Orange, Vodaphone, o2, Virgin & 3 (three.co.uk))

X-Series is  a content package that they offer.. Unlimted access to Internet, Skype, Orb, etc. & theres a Gold package that lets you buy a slingbox for Ã,£99 & for Ã,£5 a month be able to sling media to your mobile... So you can basically watch your TV on your phone.. you can even change channels.

Mark

The advantage of my work plan is that it costs me Ã,£0 per month and Ã,£0 per minute.

The trade off is constant emails from the board members.

saynor

The x-series sounds good.
02 are trying to make me pay Ã,£129.99 for the handset! what idiots!

If they still say this when i upgrade I am out of there.
