why do mobo manufacturers forget to mention the need for a BIOS update to support a certain CPU ? It was only by chance that I had a compatible CPU around that I could run the windows only BIOS update tool.

That doesnt support HD-DVD though does it ? I thought CoreAVC was for everything that was not optical disk based ?
