Title: Why does Eghay Turbo Lister take so long to update ?
Post by: Mardoni on July 02, 2006, 00:03:13 AM
Perhaps I shouldve called it Slowmo Lister but heh.

Ive fired it up and it said it needed to download and install a 1.44mb update, that was over an hour ago :o

The really worry? strange? annoying? thing is that its CPU usage is pretty much 95% constant, which isnt enough to be stuck in an infinite loop; so what is it doing ?

More importantly, why do Eghay deliver shoddy software ? and does anyone know of a useable alternative to Slowmo Lister ?

Ive never had a problem with turbo lister and it has never taken more than a minute or two to update each time in the few years that I have been using it.

I left it updating when I went to bed last night and it had finally installed the update when I got up.

I would uninstall it and download the latest version but I dont want to lose my items database so I am scared to uninstall. Chances are the version I am running has been updated for the last 2 years (at least) and it just needs a reinstall.

If you are worried about updating to the new Turbo Lister, then dont. You can install the new one and import your items into it from the old version, then uninstall the old version.

I backed up my items database and did an upgrade, it worked fine and then told me it had to get some more updates...guess what ? They took forever to install ;)
