And why it will lack features and end up have a billion updates not long after its launch.
Look at the information about it, interface looks basic an not shown in much detail with a lot of "It will have" comments
Now look at the recent Wii stuff, Soon we will official have a date and price for release and allready have some product package and what will ship and when allready

Sony did this sort of thing for the ps1, ps2 and psp but hardly anything for ps3, its not a change in the way they are doing it, why would you when it worked so well with the others, you would be crazy to unless you were so pushed for time and really are in a pickle in getting it done and even working properly.

Sony had to do what they did to Sega. PR overload with how much better and more powerful their kit and why you have to wait for them to enter the market. Hence their tag line about Next-Gen only arrives with PS3...

Bar the cell chip structure and therefore the unique memory configuration needed and of course blue ray it is nothing else then allready around ^^ And a lot of its features and abilities are just ripped from other consoles and machines, lol.
I saw a presnentation they made this week for several key game features availible to devlopers and they kept talking about unique procedual programing and abilties that you will only see on PS3.
What a load of bollux, sorry buy I was pissing myself, Some games in 1981 etc had procedual abilities but limited memory and CPU power to do anything.
Many games in 360 and wii (wii needs crap loads to even have the controler work effectivly and like the bowling shown become how you move around) as well as the games themselfs, PC games have it now, SPore is all about procudeual, nothing new just now programmers have the room and power to do more, thats nothing special about the PS3.
I love Sony, owned a ps1 and psp not ps2 as i though the Xbox was better But they have put so much bull crap, spin, misconceptions, copied elements and off the mark in several areas wit the PS3 its really pissed me off tbh.
From the very moment when the claimed that the killzone video was In game but then were found out when the developer admited it was FMV and then not shown anything of that, thats when it started going a bit wrong. The silience before that was a bit "hmm" but fine, from that they have kept digging their own hole. All the bad press and comments like mine and everywhere on the web has really been their fault
Isnt Halo 3 out in March? with no set sales date as yet?
Anyone want ot bet they slide it to PS3 release weekend?
Regardless, the _only_ people still shouting Sonys corner for the PS3 are the Fanboys. Their opnion doesnt count because they could be holding a Boxed dogturd with a sony badge on it, and STILL be saying its better than a Nintendo.
To Quote a friend "The PS3 is going to CRUSH the competion, its the biggest meanest console ever. Its so big and mean im going to have to get the welder out and make an iron shelf, while knocking bricks out behind it to vent the heat if the talk is even half true"
LOL, nice quote.
I bet you the reason They have not shown a working console yet is becuase they are finalising the details of the package that ships with it and the Jet plane ear muffs that come with it as standard to help with the noise.
But again, Here you have nintendo with working interfaces working demos and almost finished games you can play Yet Sony Have nothing like that and plan to release at the same time in Japan at least, thats crazy tbh.
Its one of the following:
i) They dont know what they are shipping with it.
ii) They dont have enough ready yet
iii) Its not finished yet
iv) its awful, and they are trying to do SOMETHING with it.
Most bets are on the last three options. The PS1 and PS2 where actually excellent product for the time, and the other manufactuers have been catching up since. In fact MS only really just caught up with the 360.
However I doubt MS have been sat on their hands, no doubt the next X-Box is in development, and likely quite a way along. Nintendo have jumped out of the "we have a faster console" market, and opted for Innovation (something they where always better at than anyone else).
Sony are producing a Very Expensive piece of equipment, against one product that isnt much less powerful (and quite a bit cheaper), and another that is truely innovative (and again a lot cheaper). Sony are also going to be up against an established next-gen console, and one that has approximately a 4 month market lead. Commercial forces may put the PS3 in the lead because its using the Playstation branding, but the Wii looks like itll clean up in Japan, the DS already has. The US market is X-Boxed, and they have a strong tendancy to buy "Domestic" products as opposed to conceived imports. The PS3 should have cleaned up in Europe if nowhere else, but the way things are going it is unlikely to. They are now saying march, i was supposed to be a 1st Quarter of 2006 release date. itll likely slip again, and as it slips more, developers will make the titles they want, then they will exit Sonys licences. its happened before, the "good" games slated by developers for the PS3 are most likely to be X-Boxed, or even made for the PC instead. IF the PS3 does bomb as many industry experts are predicting (not a consensus i know, but seeming more likely as it slips more) then itll be a very slow death. Itll break all industry records on release, and will do it for a month or two. Then itll die, slowly and with a few dying gasks of some excellent games as Sony try and rescue the franchise.
