Cheap as chips and does the job
Well sort of
Its going to be a kick ass console, got to hand it to Nintendo they were looking dead and buried.
Thing is though MS and the 360 Is not all that much more expensive then the Wii and does so much more and they can always bring out interactive devices for it, they already have guitar hero and the camera and games planed for that and I am sure more to follow.
Will be interesting
PS3 I doubt will do very well its already breaking on people
Enough to keep people interested though, good things tend to come in little packages ;)
They esp think that in Japan, its going to sell insanly well over there :)
I remember a console from Japan that was more than just console, with cool features, it was called the dreamcast... :(
That did amazingly well in japan, but struggled everywhere else.
Whilst i hope nintendo release enough volume of games to keep people happy, i can see it turning into a japan biased console especially isolating europe.
I love my dreamcast, i still play on it! Brilliant console (if not just a little noisey)

Interesting, clever way out for nintendo to extend battery life

Whole thing about the wii, while the strap may be not strong enough they have thought about everything else though very hard. The have not had the tech with them so they thought long and hard about it.
It is quite clever.

Yarr. First thing I do when I get my Wii (if I end up getting one that is) is to wirelessify the bar. I reckon if theyve been sensible the bar will just recieve 5v or something from the Wii.
Also, this is intersting for anyone from a technical perspective:

http://www.semiconductor.com/resources/press_releases/2006_11_20_1.aspIf anyones interested, the motion sensing part of the remotes comes courtesy of the
Analog Devices ADXL300. These chips are Ã,£10 each from farnell if you want to order them singly :D
Good read that, look at that compared to them tryign to open ps3

That didnt take long (http://doctabu.livejournal.com/64758.html). Yarr, just as I predicted.
Why did he bother building a new one?! Scoping what voltage the Wii sends it and building a PSU/batteries to plug into the nicely built original one is far more sensible.
