i signed up to their website months & months ago.....
stopped following it & now I not got one

no rush... no time for them + I only want one to see if I can get them to actually stream media

It's a computer at the end of the day. Only problem is that until they sort out 2D acceleration using the SOC actually using it as one will suck ass.

Playing HD video will rock though.

To be honest even if you were following it, you wouldn't have got one! They were all sold in minutes and RS and Farnell websites were being hammered so weren't actually working!

w/c 14th May mine should be here, so a couple of months yet!

A quick straw poll in my office suggests that about 50% of us have already ordered one, 45% plan to get one later in the year when the supply situation improves, and the remaining 5% can't see the point of owning one (I suspect they will come around once the 50% start to receive theirs)

I'm hoping that in the 2 months it'll take for mine they'll sort out some of the graphics and other issues, then should be good to have a proper play.

Still not sure what I'm using mine for yet though!

I've been having a look at these and might have to get one myself too, but I'll wait until later in the year, might see if I can use one as a camera trigger once connected up to some inputs for things like water droplet photography and stuff.  Should mean as long as you can code it and can get the inputs for it you could get it to do just about anything.  I've been meaning to get back into coding as I've not done any since uni and this might be a good way of doing it.

Anyone else decided what they're using their's for?

Got back from my sisters wedding and mine has turned up 

Shame I'm not really going to have time to play with it this week!

It could be quite a powerful combination of hardware.

Theres some nice alternatives turning up now - with a hefty price tag. One that looks interesting runs android, but can have linux installed - comes with usb & hdmi!

that is pretty cool - thanks for sharing the vid - am very tempted to get one and/or to get into the whole arduino thing... tis just tough trying to find the time at the moment

Restrictions are off so I ordered a couple, here in 11 weeks, I'm pretty much only wanting to use them to replace my old nework media centres so not bothered about the wait

One of them should make a good silent media centre with the right storage and audio expansion - completely silent too 

The reason for the one per person limit is that they have been selling out almost as soon as they managed to get stock. Might also make an extremely good and fairly cheap controller for various purposes

Yep, I'll just be using them to stream media from the server, hopefully the pi XBMC will be final when I have them

I know I shouldn't say really, but mines still sat here, I really haven't had a chance to play...

Might have a go tonight though, just need too choose which XBMC version to go for.

Might have a play with the new optimised Debian release release as well that's supposed to be quicker, and also people have clocked them up to 1Ghz, but will void your warranty, although not a big deal at that price...
