Based off the successfully Zune HD Interface, They basically scrapped all the front end they were doing (AS this was supposed to come out ages ago) and re-did it. Very good they did when you see how current Mobile OS interfaces are all looking really slick for the most part.

They expect to have games for windows support all in there and all that as well.

I am just wondering whats peoples thoughts on it. I know quite a few here use Windows Mobile devices and a few for business etc.

To be honest the current Windows 6.X Mobile is mostly sh*t as an OS, I can use it as Im a nerd, but its not simple, if I gave it to my GF then she wouldnt have a clue, some things are really difficult to find and configure, still have a couple of strange issues with accessing the internet and connecting to my Business LAN.

I dont like the way it leaves apps open and you have to go to task manager to close them, there is no way to actually close it, just go back to the menu.

Most users probably dont even know what task manager is.

Hopefully W7 will sort this, make it easier for anyone not just techies, and just needs to be less clunky to use.

I got a winmo Sony Ericsson X1 thinking itd be great, I could play around with it and make it my own to my hearts content.

Now I just cant wait to get rid of it and get an iPhone or Android. Devices as small as a phone need an easy to use and streamlined interface, not something that is as complicated and clunky as WinMo IMHO :(

Nexus One is coming to UK very soon, some 3G issues but now has multi touch support in last update so could be something to get andoid wise.

XEntity That is what interested me, It is a sh*te mobile OS but lots of business type or geeks use it and have got used to it and its stylus semi pc windows functionality and then things tacked on BUT have got used to it and know where it all is.
A modern style UI design to go with every other mobile interface (which is the right direction) will actually annoy a lot of people simply because it is a change and people hate change.

In saying that though, It will only come out for new phones and phones that have a build meeting the specs so all your mobile devices will not just see an update come through, but people after a new winmo based hardware device may get put off just because its different even if it is better.

As a previous advocate for Windows Mobile, Ive jumped ship to Android.  Its just so good compared to Windows Mobile.
Even 6.5.1 thats on Lynzs Omnia is not a patch on Android.

Im still on Cupcake (albeit a heavily customised one) but its just great.

W7M will have to have a rummage in your trousers to be of any interest.  I think theyve missed the boat :(
