From Coolsmartphone.com
Windows Mobile 6.1 Update coming to the Orange TyTN IIWere hearing more news on Windows Mobile 6.1 for existing devices. According to some emails weve received, Orange will be rolling out a 6.1 update for the HTC TyTN II mid-May, so we should see it pop up sometime next week.

Keep checking the TyTN II support section at Orange, and if we dont spot it ourselves, please do let us know if you see it!

Not a major issue for myself, as my tytn is running WM6.1 already, but there are talks that the graphic driver issues will be sorted in this new release.

Ive just grabbed the official update straight from HTC, so im not running all the buggy orange gumf, and its not as good as the cooked roms.  One guy is working on porting the HTC Diamond rom over to the Tytn which has supposedly got the full 3d rendering on the same chipset as the tytn.

I guess no one is really interested :(
Ive just installed L26_Diamond_V2 rom and the phone feels 2x as fast as it did before, I also get the natty screen that the new HTC Touch Diamond has!

for some reason the HTC site wouldnt let me reg my phones serial, says its not a HTC branded phone but top right clearly says htc

whats the pros n cons of the diamond cooked rom ?

soopahfly

Pros.

Its more up to date, faster and more responsive than the stock HTC rom.  Its had all the application security removed as well.

Cons,
You have to hardspl your phone to be able to flash this. But thats easy enough.
