I gave it a go a while ago however I really hate F2P games where you can Pay2win (Gold Ammo in WoT).

They are getting much better now. Tribes Ascend is one the best online FPS shooters I've played in a LONG time and Blacklight Retribution ticks some boxes but the combat is a bit disjointed. Planetside 2, ALL Crytek games, MechWarrior Online, Hawken (http://youtu.be/udEAEARD-Fo), Smite, Dota2 are just some of the upcoming ones that also look great.

Also as most devs have decided against the Pay2Win model (as it forces a lot of people away) it's not really game breaking to spend money or just work your way towards things... Exception being Ghost Recon online which has added Pay only Ammo which is retarded.

Its not upto the Devs as we have seen many a time, their job now is too make the game, if the game struggles then investors want a return, then the game will go pay2win.

As an example, Sony and Free are two words you don't expect to see in a sentence

QuoteTo illustrate the concept, Higby talked about how one gun could fire less powerful ammo more rapidly, or more powerful ammo less frequently--the net damage would be about the same. "Things like sidegraded weapons that don't give you more power will be a split between Station Cash and in-game resources,"

Sidesgrades? They are going to have a lot of work to do to make sure all these Sidegrades are well balanced, i can see where this will go.

I dislike pay for DLC, if this P2G/P2W concept is the way things are heading I shall be having no part of it, especially when you consider the quality of freely downloadable FPS games like TF2

I'm enjoying the game enough with just the free bits at the moment but time will tell

I'll probably buy a couple of p2w bits at some point. Only a tenners worth though which is pretty cheap for a game these days.

I play it as eru69er. Got a Soviet IS tank but have no intention of paying to play more.
