I bet some of you used this back in the day on the old amiga?

Got mentioned today at work, and made me remeber how cool it was, each sector on the disk had a little number as to how well it had copied over, ah good old days

I believe I used x copy pro - zurich mostly back in the day, but heres a screenie of a version thats pretty much the same 8)

hey hey cool! I used this only a month or two ago to back up some new ebay purchases (Knights of the Sky!!).

Great program - great memories :D
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

White Giant

Now that brings back some memories, X-Copy Pro 2 I think I used.

Poison_UK

I used something else all together that some guy programed from my Amiga club :)

Hah the only game with dodgy security was Grand Prix, you had to enter a word from page x paragraph x line x the word x in the line... Hahah that was mint :)

Still got my 550+ and 600 somewhere I think....

madmax

think cannon fodder and a few others copied that

Yep, worms did it, came with a black shiney (probs impossible to photocopy) sheet, obviously a huge PITA!

Eggtastico

IIRC X-copy III was built into the action replay cartridge. When not using that, I used to use Tretricopy... Lets you play Tetris while copying

Championship Manager used to as well.. just guess 2-1 & you get it within 2 or 3 reboots :-D - THe worst was the Page xx Paragraph xx Line xx Word xx

Also, a few games came with a disk that you had to line up to get the correct code. Erm.. Populous (i think) had one, premiermanger had one.

BigSoy

The Zool series used to have those funny disc things, PTA. Great game though.

Poison_UK

Still got like 400+ Amiga floppies around... Lots and lots and lots of games :)

Tretricopy was very very good :)

Deaths Head

There was a version of Xcopy for the PC.  It was awful!

I think I remember the copy protection for Alien Breed 3D, it was matt black card with gloss black text...

Cheule

Bloody hell that all brings back fond memories. I remember my one time fave Amiga game, F-18 Interceptor, had a three-wheel security disk arrangement, and you had to align them all according to a code given out, to get the code to log into the game :D

Worked great until the cardboard started to wear out...

...I also remember being real chuffed that my 4mb memory upgrade was a bargain at Ã,£25!

Monkey Island used that too. The best one I ever saw was from Operation Stealth where you had a card with a picture from the game split into hundreds of sections, each one a different colour. That picture was replicated on screen and one section would flash - you had to tell the computer what colour that section was. GENIUS!! Knights of the sky was good too - you had to match the logos of the different air squadrons to the correct one. Ahh they were the days.
