Title: X360 Elite Edition VS X360
Post by: MustangGT on June 27, 2007, 10:27:54 AM
Hi guys,

I bought a X360 on saturday, got forza motorsport 2 free with it (just thought id say) lol.

But i was so excited i went online and got info galore, what the possibilites are and so forth, lots of fun. Then i saw the X360 Elite, black console being sold in the USA (its like $499). Really im not bothered, the white console is better, a 120GB hdd is way to much for me, and i wont use it, and thats about it in terms of differences, but then i saw it comes with a HDMI cable and a Component AV cable....

Got me thinking, because i bought a panasonic viera lcd hd also, ready for x360 and HD gaming... But i mean really, is the X360 elite likely to display alot better visuals with the HDMI cable as aposed to my component av? Or are they the same?

I have never understood the fundamentals of these cables and stuff :( My tv can display 1080i and 1080p, so great... :/

well...

I have a DVD player that outputs both HDMI and Component at the sametime. I can see a definate loss of quality on Component from HDMI when switching between the sources on my Veria Plasma.

HDMI = Digital Signal
Component = Analogue Signal

If my 360 starts playing up again, I will replace it with an Elite.

You would think that the problems that plague the original 360 would have been fixed, but the elite it would seem is also plagued by them, so unless you loves the hdmi that much, get down b&q and buy a heatgun :gag:

Eu version if you get it just around xmas time will have the new better drivers, the new nano cpu, the new cooling etc, The Americans are quite miffed about that :)

I dont care what he claims if hes telling the truth then hes not using them properly. 12th 360 console? Im sorry but Ill never be convinced that hes looking after them. I also dont believe for one second that if his dad is an electrician he would get a contractor out just to be sure. Theres no way hed insult his dad like that and I doubt his dad would allow someone else into his own home to make sure he had done his work correctly.

I am on my third, and this one has already 3 red lighted twice because of the poor GPU connections. So do I mistreat mine because im on number 3?

I dont find this story hard to believe at all.

Well maybe yes I have no idea how you treat it do I? :D

Joking aside though I know they break and I know people are on multiple consoles but I just dont buy that hes THAT unlucky. However the fact that I mistrust him instanly isnt just down to that its the other things he says that are intended to reinforce the story - they just didnt ring true. They say that going into too much detail is the classic sign of a liar and I just got that impression. I could well be wrong - its just a gut feeling.

If he is telling the truth though hes far more patient than me. I love my 360 but I wouldnt go through all that for it.

Im the same. Mine sits on the side and never moves, yet it still manages to screw up.

Perhaps he uses it too much and they just wear out quicker.  It does say hes a hardcore gamer.  I would like to know exactly how long he spends on the 360 every day and compare the hours used to that of someone whose 360 has lasted a year.
