Got my network sorted with the XBOX, now on my LAN, all ok.

So what do i need, some sort of Live software?

Is it free? LOL i am assuming it isnt ;)

You talking Xbox or 360 ?

Either way I think there is a free silver service that you can try ?!

Can i use the same service if i upgrade to an XBOX 360 or must i start again?

Yes, you use the same service. When I went from Xbox to 360, it automatically upgraded me to a Live Gold account on the 360.
