Title: Xbox - XBMC 1080
Post by: soopahfly on July 01, 2008, 23:14:40 PM
If anyone here has a HDTV and are still using an xbox for XBMC, I highly reccomend you get the Monster Gamelink X400 cable.
Just grabbed one for mine and the difference is staggering.  XBMC looks crisp and smooth, and it combats the blockyness associated with some Avis.
Currently watching A-Team series 1 in all its upscaled glory!

Does this mean the xbox can output 1080?

So if i buy a component cable is it just the dash that is improved? Are games upscaled? What def video can it play?

I tought the only downside of the xbox was its inability to output HD.

Some games do "HD" resolutions such as 480p but MS never released the component cable over here so you have to hack your xbox to NTSC to get the higher resolutions.  Its only ok for XBMC at 720p and 1080i, although I belive some games did support 720p.

I think it was about £8 tbh.  XBMC is a bit jerky in the dash at 1080i, and is much smoother at 720p

Its dedicated tho, so it can do better than the equivalent computer.
