QuoteOhio University will reimburse a graduate student for a bicycle that was destroyed after officials mistakenly believed a sticker displaying the name of a punk band was a bomb threat.

question is: does he put a new sticker on the new bike?

He deserves it. If security isnt trained enough to understand that making a pipe bomb from cromium steel is pointless and the damn thing didnt have a wick--then the university should not only pay for the bike, but get him a rental car till he gets his new ride. Idiots. Pipe bombs are made from hard iron pipe as it fragments. A bike tube, be it aluminum or steel, would just split open.

Serious

Cast iron is much better for fragmentation than steel but ball bearings, nails or other metal fragments can be used if available as shrapnel.

but surely then it would technically become a nail bomb as opposed to a pipe bomb? I mean, what is the modern education system comming to if we cant expect the average terrorist on th street to correctly label his bombs?

Serious

I know but now adays most pipes are made of plastic so I would expect you wouldnt get much carnage out of that without supplimenting it a bit with other materials...
