nope, wasn't me with the vent :-(

I modded a freezer and submerged my m/b etc.. in oil at -30'C.... but it was before I was on the internet so didn't take any photos !
(and it was a bit crap really, I used engine oil and it was too thick to circulate at that temperature.... so most of the oil was at -30'C while around the cpu was at +30'C

I think big steve put a hole in his floor to suck up cold air from under his house and used that to keep the water for his watercooling cold ?

But no one ever received what they bought from him.  That's why he was banned.

years ago I got a chest freezer from the tip, I put a 1" 20 coils  copper pipe in it and 90% antifreeze, i got top 3d mark for 2 nights with that i put a air conditioner on the side lol it was my Epox with a Nvidia G3.

I have a Asus Crosshair 4 with aCore6 @4.3 on a Corsair H70, on board overclocks, everything is so easy nowadays, i volt modded everything back then.

bladerunner !

he was the guy with an old gas cylinder buried in his garden to act as a dual heat sink and reservoir !

iirc, his gfx card blocks were miles ahead of anyone else, and nvidia asked him to help them with theirs ?
(or something like that)

I remember bladerunner, he sold his custom GFX block to nvidia in exchange for 2 prototype GF3-Ti500 cards a couple of months before they hit the shelves. He didn't actually need the cards as his stock GF3 overclocked higher than a Ti500 anyway so he sold them on here. I bought one, seriously fast card for the time.

The most daring thing I ever did back in the days was stick my dual GPU Voodoo 5 card in the freezer so I could prize off the crappy stock HSFs and lap away the remaining glue to replace them with something beefier for overclocking. I still remember forcing a knife in under the HSF's thinking "i hope this is a good idea". I can't believe I put a £300+ graphics card in the freezer and then did that, I simply wouldn't bother risking it now! Very tame by comparison to most things people were doing back then. Of course everyone still eggs you on to give it a go ;D

the scaryest/crazyest thing I ever did was to use the 12V line from an old PSU, two croc clips and two sewing pins to reconfigure the L bridges on my Athlon T-Bred B 1400s to default to a 16x multiplyer and allow SMP operation.

Something like £150 worth of brand new CPU's and I was deliberately burning out traces on the PCB. I must have been bonkers. It worked though!
