Title: Anyone ever had an dealings with FACT?
Post by: DEViANCE on February 25, 2009, 19:50:02 PM
I *might* be in a bit of trouble with FACT.

Anyone know how they work?

They likely to just tell me off or try and really get me done?

Make sure anything illegal is backed up and well away from the computer, erase incriminating evidence on the PC, then ignore them.

Fast are guaranteed to be after bigger fish than you.

Deny everything and say some one broke your account via your computer and they had also accessed other sites using information stored in cookies.

Or just say you have no idea what theyre talking about

would be quite difficult to deny, when I say I sold a few its more like 400.

hopefully they just tell me to stop, but if they do more i suppose Ill just have to take it on the chin.

Was this to fund drugs, or guns?
According to fact, all piracy is linked to organised criminal networks. :ptu:

So what manuals were you selling,
If it does come to something, I do know people in the know.
Youll get a knock on the door at 5am, anything that can play a cd or dvd will be taken, games consoles the lot.

I dont think theyll bother with you tbh... bigger fish out there.... theyre really there to protect the film/music/ game people who fill there pockets !

EDIT:  p.s why post them ?   why not set up an automatic system to email them to the buyer when they pay ?

Ive bought manuals on ebay in that past and thats how its worked for me...

would save you some work, could sell worldwide etc... ?

Some good stuff there, dont think fack will come after you, depends where you got them, and if you could lead them to bigger fish. Id take them off ebay, you could sell on forums if you know any.

Totally different league but I think thats what happened to me on DeviantArt. Id put all my animated half life avatars up, abd theyd been there for over a year. Then suddenly the Elite one that Nimrod used here I think, was taken down due to copyright infringement.

I enquired over it, as I was surprised that they hadnt removed the 2 dozen other ones. And I pointed out that due to their ToC I hadnt really broken any copyright, giving full credit for the game model and everything else being my work, and why they dont remove all the static screenshots of in-game characters in that case. They fobbed it off, and 2 months later I put it back.

I think someone basically grassed it up as they wanted to be the only person with that avatar tbh.

LOL it took a while but my ebay account has been suspended for 7days.

Apparently Haynes has been in touch with ebay, there goes that little cash cow, was good while it lasted.

Hopefully I get my account back in 7 days and can carry in selling legit items.
