(Firstly: I am myself a sceptic of any technology that claims to be able to violate the laws of thermodynamics, which I know full well.)
The whole thing thats going on with Gary Mckinnon at the moment got me inspired to do some digging around the ol interweb, and I dug up this documentary on Google Video, a documentary I remember from back when it was first broadcast.

(Equinox, 1995, 50mins)
Well it turns out that the three of the major american inventors featured in this documentary
have now all died...and not of natural causes... :o
Jim Griggs:
Died in an Accident (I couldnt find anymore details on the exact nature of it.)Stanley Meyer:
Poisoned whilst eating at a restaraunt.James Patterson:
Mysteriously disappeared (no more mention of him on the internet past an article on his 1997 appearance on Good Morning America (http://www.infinite-energy.com/resources/abc.html)).Quote from: Gary Mckinnon"...Old-age pensioners cant pay their fuel bills, countries are invaded to award oil contracts to the West, and meanwhile secretive parts of the secret government are sitting on suppressed technology for free energy."
Gary Mckinnon is a wannabe cracker who supposedly doesnt even know about the Print Screen key, and yet he has supposedly caused $700,000 of damage? And he is
now to be extradited?.....*whistles x-files theme tune.....* ;)
According to some theories the third law of thermodynamics cant be applied to the early universe (where did all that energy come from anyway?) :?
So far there have been some interesting theories as to zero point energy but none have managed to get anywhere near producing it.
Interesting and strange that they died unnatural deaths.

they have a few nice devices being touted about at present - Im going over to get a look at them when i go to the states in the summer with my friend for him to select his new wind turbine.
If any of these technologies do exist, theyll be supressed and rubbished by the oil companies/scientific community/whatever, because it was represent a massive loss of revenue and a change in the way we live and work as great as the industrial revolution.
It would also make modern science look unsteady (When in fact most science is simply made up) and force scientists to admit they were wrong - which they would never do under any circumstances. I did work placements in a famous laborotary as a student and none of them would admit they wrong when results blatently proved their years work was a total failure - results were consistently fluffed and massaged to make them look good.
Look at how history tells us the men who claimed the earth was round were treated.
what a big pile of conspiraloon bollocks tbqfh
if anyone actually did invent a free energy device then they would probably become richer than bill gates
They wouldnt - because the entire world economy runs on oil.
Take the oil out of the equation and you have the entire thing shot to hell.
Its in the interests of the banks, governments and the haves to keep things this way as long as possible.
Im not a subscriber to any of these conspiracy theories - but surely you can see how this sort of thing - *if* it existed would bring a lot of things grinding to a halt - the implications are too massive to even begin to imagine.
Nope the idea that free energy machines are being suppressed is complete conspiraloon bollocks that is generally hyped up by rather stupid individuals with little understanding of how the economy works but plenty of outlandish theories about how a powerful few in the establishment control everything and wont let "us" have free energy.
if someone actually invented a credible way of getting free energy - or more realistically if someone say managed to find a way of generating electricity via nuclear fusion then there would a be a whole load of companies queuing up to go into partnership with them.
the economy still works with water and air being free
Not relying on oil worked very well for us not so long ago when we relied on coal not oil to power our steam trains, ships, heat our houses etc... the transition from oil to nuclear fusion etc... is perfectly viable and is in the interests of world governments and banks.
yup Daves correct. If someone got a free energy machine working or even ballpark close almost every science journal in the world would pick it up within a couple of months and have it published within the year.
The idea that companies somehow censor science is a bit of a myth really.
Even if they edited the journals a science labs homepage or a presentation at a science conference etc would pick it up and people would run with it.
QuoteWhen in fact most science is simply made up
I wouldnt even know where to begin with this so I wont bother lol.
I dont subscribe to conspiracy theories either, but Oil and Gas are so closely tied to the worlds economy (http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/).... It makes sense to me that many people would not want these inventions to see the light of day.
It may just be the case, as stated in the documentary, that the inventors (being mostly engineers) simply do not apply a rigorous enough scientific method, and therefore are falsely descredited.
Remember that things such as concrete and X-Rays were not discovered by scientists, but by laymen. :)
Thanks steve Im glad there are other sane people on tek
A word of advice to the tin hat wearing peeps who voted yes in the poll:
There are no aliens at area 51, the worlds leaders are not actually lizard men (except for the US president) and masturbating to buffy the vampire slayer is not going to get you a girlfriend.
the water heater is still available, so it isnt really a cover up although I would agree that vested interests would be very willing to pull the plug on one if it really did work.
The Petrol companies tried to prevent the governments banning tetraethyl lead in petrol and managed to hide the dangers for a long time dispite the fact they had blatant evidence that it caused health problems.
I voted no but really it should have an unproven option.
