yo,

does anyone else get creaky, cracky joints in their arms and legs?

at the moment my elbows, wrists, knees AND ankles creak and crack when i move them - not all the time, mind, just every now and again (a few times today, my wrists and elbows made loud cracking sounds!   ) they dont ache nor are they stiff, just doesnt sound too pretty!

anything i should be doing to prevent this - my ankles have been bad for a while - but i do an awful lot of high impact sports and ive been very active of late - walking and cycling.

cheers

Dr Dry Bones.

No, but Ive had it in my jaw for months after I had an unsettling episode involving a large sandwich and a big bite :(

yup :), my lower arm crunches loud enough for people to hear when i place my arm out straight and rock my wrist from side to side, my knees pop every so often, my shoulders give a clicking sound when rolled.

Yep, all kinds of comedy creaks and deformities that are probably more at home on a man twice my age.

Can feel/hear my right knee cartlige rubbing/floating etc about all the time after cruciate surgery.

Right first finger knuckle is about half a inch further down the hand than it should after I broke that, so that does all kind of interesting creaking.

Right big toe doesnt creak but I cant really feel the skin on top of it anymore after I think I broke it playing drunken barefoot samba football and kinda ignored it til the pain went away.

Its all good, a man should learn to bask in the creaky symphony that shows signs of a life well-lived.

Youre a quart low. Make sure you float plenty of olive oil on your next plate of hummous.

Both my knees click and grind.  Ive been told  by a sports doctor its because I didnt set my SPDs up properly years ago and ive put pressure on parts that shouldnt have pressure.

Whether thats true or not, sounds plausable.  I just chucked the cleats and stuff on.

Har, they told us that them there new fangled retention systems would be much better for knees than them zero float slot cleats n clips. Ive seen more folks with knee problems using the modern stuff. Probably because the old cleats need to be really spot on, or your knees would scream until you dialed them in. Cant think of a more comfortable pedal than my old 90 105 platforms meant for dedicated slot cleats. Sniff.

"You may need to metaphorically make a deal with the devil. By devil I mean robot devil and by metaphorically I mean get your coat."
"Congratulations Fry, youve snagged the perfect girlfriend. Amys rich, shes probably got other characteristics..."

"Bite my glorious golden ass!"
"Everybodys a jerk. You, me, this jerk."

Try some glucosamine supplements. Some studies show it helps massively with rebuilding cartilige and cushion. Others state that its snake oil. Either way, its relatively cheap and fairly benign.

Thanks all for making me feel a bit less old and fleabitten  ;)

Serious

Its quite common, glucoseamine is normally used for arthritis while this may be the tendons.

There are so many causes of arthritis that its quite possible for it to work for one group and not for another, if you decide to try it then dont visit Boots for the stuff, they are the most expensive going.
