Controversial possibly, but not even the best Coldplay album of the noughties for me.

Damien Rice - O for me I think but a big part of that is about nostalgia for a time Im not getting back  :?

Thats a tough one. Based on what I think Ill still be listening to in ten or twenty years to come its got to be a close run thing between Fever Rays debut, Meads of Asphodels "Damascus Steel", "Gap Var Ginnunga" from Wardruna, Bal-Sagoths "Atlantis Ascendant", and Gary Numans "Pure".

You know I couldnt get into In Rainbows despite its great reviews.

Soy: I think X&Y is the best Coldplay album and of the big fans Ive spoken to, they seem to agree. However the casual fans seem to think its the worst. Weird huh?

Placebo - Meds
Muse - Origin of Symmetry

Of the decade is really tough - such a long period to pick from.

I think Im going to go with Metallica - St Anger. Its spanned 2 very different periods in my life and is one of the few things that Ive held onto during both so a lot of memories and nostaglia for me. Plus I still freakin love it! :)

Agreed, its incredibly difficult if yopu listen to a lot of genres and styles of music.

Im going with my safe and easy choice.

Goldfrapp - Seventh Tree

Awesome back to roots (Guitar  --> Amp) album.

Theres been a lot of standout albums this year for me along with Medicore albums.  Some of my favourites have been.

White Stripes - Elephant
NIN - Year Zero
Little Boots - Hands
Muse - Absolution
The Killers - Hot Fuss (They never beat this benchmark IMO)
Opeth - Blackwater Park
Hot Chip - Made In The Dark
Sigur Ros - Takk

Im sure Ill get slated for a few of these, but so what.....

Saudades de Rock by Extreme
Stadium Arcadium by RHCP
De-Loused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta
Dont Believe The Truth by Oasis
Call Off The Search by Katie Melua
Morning View by Incubus
Permission To Land by The Darkness
Parachutes by Coldplay

Please note that in the last decade 90% of the music Ive listened is from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Stadium Arcadium is a fantastic choice, 2 CDs of great tracks and one of the greatest modern vinyl masterings of our time. I wish more bands put out productions of this magnitude. 8-)

The Darkness....  Well, you see, I like silly hair metal and while most people only know the singles, there are actually some more serious tracks on the album which I really like.

As a complete side note I cant believe I forgot to mention Emilie Autumns "Opheliac", it seems to always be played in our household and has been since it was released.

I was going to question the Darkness.  I think their music is rediculous.  But lets be fair, everyone has their secret band they secretly like.

Mine is Electric Six

I really like their first album too, I wouldnt put it in album of the decade but as Will points out, there are some more serious tracks about it and its a good listen.
