Got asked to do a private job today at work for a friend of 1 of the directors..

Basically was cash in hand and a virus/spyware cleanup.. easy!

Hell no, came to the final reboot of the night and XP dropped dead so now i have to recover all the data and get it all going again tonight BOLLOX!!!

Dont panic and try a repair from a XP boot disk. Chances are you cleaned an infected system file / driver and thats whats causing your problems.

bloody XP setup cant see the installation.. its hosed

And a copy of their Trueimage backup software wouldnt go amis either, could have saved some problems too

Im guessing from his lack of response that either he:

a) fell asleep and didnt get up in time for work,

b) went into working look sh*te and got sent home,

c) didnt get the machine fixed, went in and got sacked.
