A quick question...does anyone know what Play.com uses for expensive deliveries? Ie, not your usual small fry stuff like a dvd or book, but for their electronic gizoms which "For security reasons must be sent to the cardholders address"? Im presuming they dont use standard delivery.

I ordered a camera 2 weekends ago, it was posted Last monday, still not turned up. Its a bugger that you have to wait 21 days before reporting it as item not received. Im guessing that as its getting towards 10 days after posting the chances of it turning up in the next 11 are remote, if it was held up in the post I guess itd be a couple of days late, not over a week.

Its not bad going for me the last few weeks. 3 things have been sent, and so far only 1 has arrived on time. The first thing to be sent, some tropical beetle grubs, got lost even before they made it on to the Royal Fails tracking section of the website. Their replacements came through all right though, and now this :/

But isnt play on Jersey, it wont be royal mail, maybe customs have opened it, lol

zpyder

Aye. Tis Jersey. Didnt think about customs, I know that tax isnt applicable on items under £17 or something (or thats what 7dayshop reckons) so maybe its being held up because the fecking tax peeps are trying to work out how much I should pay the UK govt. for doing sod all in terms of the production and shipping and supply of this product...

Whats Plays delivery T&C?

If your charged Duty, then check it. Cameras are duty free.

My brother just got his Eee PC delivered from Play.com. Was shipped yesterday using Parcel Force.

zpyder

Aye. It shouldnt take this long. Do you guys reckon its worth calling play (as theres no email addresses I could find when I had a (very) quick look on their site) or is it not worth the bother. They make it perfectly clear that they wont act on an undelivered item inside of 21 days from despatch :(

Tis a pain really as its obvious it wont turn up but Im going to have to wait another week before they get the ball rolling on sending out another, which is an ass as I could do with it before the start of July!

zpyder

Aye. I figured that. My dad seems to think emailing/phoning them will somehow resolve matters.

Deaths Head

It wont hurt... but it wont help, either :)

zpyder

Well, it didnt hurt, and it did actually help.

Turns out that the camera hadnt left the warehouse. Theyre sending one out to be here by Friday.

Lets hope it arrives Wednesday as Ill be needing it thurs-fri!

Serious

They should have sent it out by next day courier if it was their fault it didnt arrive.

7dayshop sends expensive things by courier, cheaper and small items by first class post. They take about 3-5 days to get to me. They also charge VAT on items over the limit.

zpyder

They did, or they sent it out fast anyway. Phoned on Sunday, they found the problem, posted on Monday, arrived Tuesday morning.
