.....a good laptop.

Im dont know much about computers tbh so I need as much help as I can get.

My mum and dad are wanting a laptop to replace our old computer as its broken (Sam thats your fault btw  :P ).

They dont want anything too fancy, something with a good memory and a decent processor would be good, the only other prob is they dont have a lot to spend on one.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Cheers

Lindsey

Vini

The spec of the Toshiba L30 isnt terrific, but with one on my lap right now, I can certainly say theyre pretty damn good value for money.

£300 for a Celeron M (one im using now)
or
£350 for a C2D

Id pay the extra £50 if they can stretch to it.

Possibly not the best on the market, but without spending hours looking, or using vouchers, or buying second hand this is a good deal.

If you go with ebay make sure the seller has actual pics of the laptop thats the only advice for ebay really, apart from, get a telephone number and address as well as good feedback.

Id recomend the above too, that Vini has posted, Im using Toshiba and its great!

DEViANCE

ive got that exact one that vini posted.

its a good lappy but too slow for vista, much better with xp.

If its just for browsing the web etc, itll be fine with Vista, I suspect thats what itll be mainly used for. As said Id strongly recommend paying the extra £50.

In most cases - providing you dont go for games - almost anything will run adequately.

Second Toshiba looks good for the money.

Dont expect a spectacular battery life but otherwise it should do nicely.

There is also the issue of transporting it, those are almost purely intended as desk top replacements.
