The website still seems to be doing cash and listing cash trades, are you sure that they werent just out of cash? It happens quite a bit in stores especially around the Christmas period/January sales when they are buying more in unwanted gifts than they are selling, towards the end of the day the stores can run out.

I was in on Sat getting rid of a mobile, and they paid me cash.  Odd :\

Id have thought that places like CEX would be one of the few businesses to do better in the current economic climate.

Though maybe they could end up with a surplus of stuff people trade in, and no one buying, hence the vouchers...?

Serious

It might be more of an issue in some branches than others, depending on area.

Went in yesterday and sold 2 x gamecube games, 1 pc game for £21 cash and was paid on the spot :), store credit is optional and is more value.

Ill be going back to CEX again :D

Dont forget that CEX stores are franchised so some may have different rules on cash / vouchers than others.

That said, Ive sold a fair bit of stuff to CEX and often got prices well over the odds of what youd get on forums / the bay.
