Hey all. I need to come up with a company name quite quickly. It needs to be top notch, clever and to form a great logo.
I not got time for the logo just yet, doing another logo and site and something else at home at the moment.

http://www.awwwards.com/99-creative-logo-designs-for-inspiration.html

I am capable of a logo of these standards, these are not only clever but look good. One fav of mine is the spartan golf one. Very good.

It is for website design and development.

Some words I been going around with are:
Panda, lab, labs, code, web, chimp, space, rhino, jungle, cloud

Im after two good words and for consideration for the URL : .com
I know I want two opposite like blue panda.com but something obviously cooler that when you say it sounds cool.
I'm on two pages of words at the moment and it is either exists or not tells right.
It needs to ping a great logo idea and theme for a aside, to many people do not realise how much the logo sets the tone and the quality for a whole site. Taking time to nail your company name and logo sets you well for everything.

I liked atomic apple as it is a play on Adams apple and the logo of an apple with atoms around it would be cool BUT it would always be too close to the Aplle logo so that is out.

Any ideas? Any good words?
Thanks

Sites with names like 'superjaguar' and 'electricmulehat' just smack of not being able to get a good domain IMO, so out come the 'zany' ideas, maybe I'm just old and not down with the whole hipster thing but can't you just make at least one word relevant to what you do?

Or am I just spectacularly missing the point

bear

code rhino   :)

Bewildered bear ;)

No I'm inclined to agree with matt here, I think the idea of funky monkey web design and all that is done to death, you'll look back in ten years and say "Horny Hedgehog, what was I thinking?"

I don't see what's wrong with something 'neXus' inspired, its a cool word on its own. I've kept it simple and no gimmicks with 'Clocked Web Development'.

If you are gonna go down this road, I'm voting Translucent Pterodactyl (pisser of a domain name, though)

Relevant words I like are 'kiwi' 'tiki' and 'pacific' but hell it's your website, but even just playing with those I can see your difficulty, any two words plopped together like 'kiwilabs' the .com has a 'for sale' on it  :gag:

Couple of you missed the concept
Take a look and the logos in the link, these too:

Safari bar for example. Too nice words, great combination causing the double look.
The URL is short, the two words role together, it is easy to remember and creates your theme.
Nige, the basic name stuff which is you but no other meaning is the old school way and causes you to have actual no brand identity. Sites I have had to design and are crap like 3 I'll do soon are because of the logo and name with no identity to them.
A name sets your logo and theme and everything else .
Tekmonmeys works for that concept. It has meaning related to what it it is about on two levels. Little tricky logo wise it's been but it's along the concept of a good brand name.

Code rhino for example is close.

I do not want to go down the fern or kiwi line because it is done to death. Every company here is so unoriginal and you see 5 companies a day all with a fern on their van for example.

Gotcha, right, 'jungleflip' (all .XYZ available)

You have the clean word

'JUNGLE'

then underneath you have an upside-down jungle* with white text inside it of 'flip'

*please include an upside-down confused monkey.

If you really want to be smart about it, you could make it work so that whatever way 'up' you look at it, it looks/means something different.

edit - or even better, you have an upside-down jungle with the 'JUNGLE' text in it, and water at the bottom with 'flip' text in it, reflecting the jungle the 'right way up'

Okay, I have a better idea what you mean now. I think you should move away from animals/places though and spend a bit of time finding thinking of some really original - possibly more abstract - concepts. Otherwise I worry you'll end up with something no different to all the other brands on that site. The Spartan Golf one is possibly the best idea there, the others for the most part I think are uninspired.

Invisible Panda.

Tbh, if you chose a name that doesn't include the word panda, I will be upset

Do we have to panda to your attentions?  :dunno:

And as for the thread, can we all be paid £20 million for helping with your business?  :ptu: :ptu:

Funny that, pretty much most of those are critically acclaimed, wont say which but a number of them have walked away with logo and branding awards last year :P

Not quite the right concept, these are just two words together with no meaning. Check out the links to logo's to see what I mean.
