You're probably better off coming up with one yourself as it's your website - keep thinking about it for the next 24 hours and the idea might well come to you late at night or when having a shower and it will be better than anything anyone else will come up with having thought a out it for a minute at most.

here's a random one...

thinkCloud

White brain set amongst a few clouds, blue background. Or maybe just sort of brain shaped cloud alone on blue background.

(sort of current as cloud computing is big now)

.com domain has gone though...

You'll easily have a better idea, I doubt much good will come from stuff any of us will post as we don't care as much as you do about the site and will only consider this 'concept' for the 30seconds or so it takes us to reply to this thread.

Best brand name key points are

1.Stickyness - just sticks in your head.
2. shorter and sweet the better
3. functional - Can use it in what your brand is.
4. tells a story
5. Making a new word.
You can take say two words and make up a new word. Mozilla is Mozilla Godzilla for example. (If you did not know :) )

Bacon

Will there be payment for this company name and concept logo? I'm sure i can think of something if your going to buy me a 530D Touring for my effort!

Okay, I have a better idea what you mean now. I think you should move away from animals/places though and spend a bit of time finding thinking of some really original - possibly more abstract - concepts. Otherwise I worry you'll end up with something no different to all the other brands on that site. The Spartan Golf one is possibly the best idea there, the others for the most part I think are uninspired.
Funny that, pretty much most of those are critically acclaimed, wont say which but a number of them have walked away with logo and branding awards last year :P

Most of them also look like 5 mins with Photoshops text tool, a nice font and Blending Options to me :P

The 'Twins' logo is a perfect example of something that would take 5 mins to achieve, its not brilliant or clever, it's the sort of logo I was coming up with for the first websites I did. These big concept logos do nothing for me and I think are all part of the web 2.0 bubble thats growing tiresome. Some of them are great, but if that Twins logo won an award I'll be bloody surprised.

Bit harsh, it's a classic IMO

Ok, I'm leaving already  ;D

I didn't look at those logos before.... you're right.... they're utter utter crap

if I was paying someone for a logo and they tried to give me that crap I'd refuse to pay and I'd be very tempted to give the designer a slap for good measure

Is it an IT related  company? Some sense of genre may help guide suggestions.

Blue Carrot
Framed Stag
Orange Culture
Origin Unknown
Not quite the right concept, these are just two words together with no meaning. Check out the links to logo's to see what I mean.

It wouldn't be the first company I've met where I have no clue what they do from the name.

I don't know.....  Kiwi Code Store  :tinhat:

The logo that you thought was the most simple will be the one that probably took the most time.
It takes time to get to such a simple and effective concept through a lot of different concepts narrowed down and then refined. Coming up with that concept itself you may think is obvious looking at it but to do that: it's not.

Eagle would testify to that.

first offer over £10,000 gets it !

This is what I said about taking your time and thinking of something more abstract :) Twins with a 2 turned sideways should not have taken a long time to think of IMO. Maybe it was the best of a bunch of ideas? Who knows, I still maintain it looks like a quick and simple knock up, regardless of how effective it is. I do logos like that all the time for clients that don't pay much ;)

neXus

I got one now and logo and theme concept.

There you go... coming up with one yourself was prob the best thing to do all along.

What did you you come up with in the end?

Always take the positive and negative advise now, often find the latter the best. The bad examples, the ones off direction etc helped narrow it down.
You have to find one that is cool but one that has not been done and one you can get the domain for. I got the domain and I will get the logo done before showing off. Logo will make the sense of it. (Firefly slang)
Explain it when that is done. I got to finish drawing decent monkeys first for something else.

I don't think that's what he said at all, I read it as "I didn't go with any of your ideas, but thanks, they helped narrow it down to what I was actually looking for"
