Well the cows egg had to be fertilised or the offspring wouldnt have grown up enough to provide sausages for the toad in the hole... :P

Best tasting eggs are those that have just been layed, preferably fried while still warm from the hen. When I used to go camping the farm just down the road had chickens and provided the best eggs I have ever tasted. Organic and free range.

I  like eggs aged about 10 days or a bit more easier to peel.

If you boil them then that might be the right time, for fried its the sooner the better ;)
