All this talk of dentists reminds me that I need to go over Christmas.
How quickly can I make an appointment? I will only be in the country for a week.
If youve not got an NHS dentist then youre probably looking at 10-16 months before you can get one :)
I know I wont get NHS. Ill pay privately. I only want a check up to make sure Im not getting tooth decay.
no dentists in the country your in? thats a pretty poor show.
You wanna pay for an American dentist ?
id book now if I were you... i was at the dentis a few weeks ago and he had a 3 month waiting list :o
My dentist is very easy to see, mind you, he does charge an arm and a molar. :mutley:

I got one straight away in London just last month (had been to a private one and realised how expensive it was then checked my local NHS one and booked an appointment fairly quickly)

Yep, no problem getting one in London here either, appointment slightly away, reasonably attractive female dentist, no problems after having been for about 5 years. Good deal all round I felt.
Signed up as a new NHS patient lat week and had two appointments in 3 days. System working great for me.
I didnt find it an issue to get an NHS dentist a few years back when I had had enough of the private dentist my family used. And this was right about the peak time when it was often in the news about the waiting lists. I went on the NHS website, found the list of NHS dentists, and had my pick from about a dozen in my area. Ended up going for one thats literally about 300m from Uni, and not had a problem with it.
Some areas are great, othere terrible. Overall its put luck as to what you get.

But thats the land of golden opportunity you keep harping on about, or at least did till you went there.

Excuse me? Go find a single post where I said anything like that and Ill buy you a brand new car. Otherwise come back and apologize.
Sam is the least likely person to have done that
Also, youll probably find if youre looking private youll get an appointment squeezed in anywhere, but yeah its a safer bet to look and book sooner rather than later.

Very convenient.
Ill accept your implied apology.
to be fair ive never seen sam say anything like that. The only think that came close that i remember, was Sam saying that we should skip the euro and go straight to the dollar. Which does make sense
