Been doing a bit of speculative job hunting recently with an eye to moving to London in the summer. Just been offered a position with Detica as a consultant, anyone had any experience of them good or bad?
Would be quite a severe commute for 6 months, but the money is better and the work hopefully more interesting.
Alternatively, if you were a successful product of an large multinational outsourcing firms graduate scheme, with 18 months experience as a project manager, what jobs would you be looking for in London?
Single? Looking to move? no ties?
Project management?
Id be off to the tax free haven of Dubai for a couple of years
Not Single. Did consider Saudi earlier last year for a bit, think Dubai might be more interesting though.

Deticas work is via projects. In fact, Detica would likely be classed as a rival of accenture.
That said IIRC Big Soy is well familiar with these types of companies having come from EDS.
Id go for it. Id go for Detica or BAE, or of course the one Ive gone for.... that said Id make sure I go into the "right" business of the right business if you get my drift.
Example:
Telecoms = Outsourcing hell.
Defence = Cant exactly outsource national concerns.
Detica have done some interesting things in security, and encryption recently I believe, and BAE have huge projects on for the Future Ships programme, the Eurofighter, and submarines... not even mentioning their more commercial concerns like the A380.
Id go for it.
