F**king drink f**king driving a**ehole b**tards! Ok, ill set the mood.

Twas a fairly warm, but damp night in Nuneaton, the clock chimed 1:30am, Chris was in bed, his fiancee Jody asleep by his side, reading Ian Flemmings finest.
When all of a sudden there was the sound of a car at full revs coming up the road, "Hmm, he sounds in a hurry" Chris began to think. No sooner had the thought entered his head a god almighty BOOM reached his ears.

Quickly they jumped out of the bed, Jody only stopping to pull on a pair of jogging bottoms and a jumper, Chris only to put on jogging bottoms and trainers. Chris reached the door shouting over his shoulder "Phone the police".

Outside a scene of utter carnage awaited..... a green 306, on the opposite side of the road, facing him, the front end basically disintegrated, the four passengers outside of the car smelling of drink, the driver lolling over the passenger seat..... then the front seat passenger started to pull the driver out of the car, the nurse from next door rushed to stop him.... to late, drunken bozo just pulled the driver, with unknown injuries, onto the road.

It was then chris turned and saw two houses down, speared on the fence, like a lump of pork skewered on a kebab, the car he and his mum had owned for exactly 3 weeks, the drivers rear quater gone, the passenger rear quater severly damaged by the tree it hit whist being spun 180 degrees.....

At this point Chris had an over-whelming urge to kick what was left of the living sh*t out of the driver....

Apparently it appears (according to the cops) he was doing 90mph in a 30.... whilst 3.5 times over the limit..... and 5 up in his car...... round a set of mid-road bollards.... the c**t..... i hope he gets sent down.... woke the baby up next door.... wrote my car off.... said he wasnt driving, untill one of the two female passengers gave a statement that he was!!!!! GRRRRRRR....... it was a mint 106, only cost me Ã,£400!!! GRRRRRRR..... not a happy bunny atm cus no i cant sleep and its 04:04

Mongoose

ouch! well done for resisting the urge to kill the drunken idiot (which doesnt really cover it but is the only description I can come up with that doesnt contravene the forum language rules). I suppose at least he didnt hit any people.

I was the vicimt of a drink drive incdient a year ago..details not important but I can tell you that the driver (if insured) will be dropped like a hot potato by the insurance company. their small print will make any claims void if hes shown to be over the limit.

That means court will charges costs and damages to him and he wont have any cover. He will certainly loose his licence for at least a year as well as any stretch inside.

Your insurance company will cover your car (sadly not a replamcent) they will charge him for the full cover, plus cost and damages.

??? Why should Monkeys insurance pay anything ? The drunk drivers
insurance should pay Monkeys but not the drivers car of course, yes ?
At least that how it works in sweden, the obligatory traffic insurance
pays for damages you do to others, drunk or not drunk.

His insurance pays him then they try to get it back from the third party

You have no obligatory traffic insurance ? We have to have one but one does not have to have any other (fire, theft, glass, etc.)

Yes insurance is obligatory but it wont cover everything. There is a government fund for getting compensation in some cases that are not covered or unobtainable

Monekys insurance companys first obligation is him. Whatever happens to Monkeys car, his insurance company will pay for it. Afterwards the Insurance company will go after whomever is responsible and get the money back, this covers monkey. Becuase if Monkey went after the drink driver personaly, he would have to wait months for the court to reach a verdict, and even then any payment could be in installments. Leaving Moneky without a car or cash equivalent for many months.

Yes we also have such a fund if someone illegaly drives without insurance and damage someone. But I do think it is unfair to CMs insurance company to have to pay it should be the drunk drivers traffic insurance which should pay and if he had no, the fund.

The Motors Insurers Bureau or MIB. Whom I am dealing with....all other insurance companys pay a sum into this fund to cover all non-insured claims. But they dont pay out as much as normal insurance company.

IF the driver was insured, the insurance company will not cover him. Becuase he drove over the limit, thus commiting a criminal act, which insurnace companies do not cover. You will not be insured for drink driving. Its in the small print.

Yes for damages on yer own car if drunk but the liability part should not be void but your company can try to get you to pay though (after they paid for the damages), I know there is EU directives about this but I am not sure how they turned out.

Madrocker
