I actually dont like Facebook. Its awkward, impersonal, and is best suited for group organisation, not individuals.

I much prefer MySpace.

Must admit Im preferring facebook.  Myspace just takes forever to load a few pages and you pop 5 or 6 people up and then youre just listening to white noise as all the tracks play  If they could make it so MySpace didnt crash every 5 mins it would be better.


Theres a rumour going round that Kevin Rose (guy who wrote digg.com and presents diggnation) is going to be launching a new social network site in the coming month or two.  Knowing his work thatll probably be pretty impressive.  Its just hard to catch myspace when so many people are on it already.


I just look at it like this:

Myspace is for finding out about gigs and for teenagers/people who cant make a webpage but really want one.  Its like the Sims of the social networking world.  Everyones used it, its really popular and you can spend your time making something custom/personal but underneath its really a bit sh*t and everyone else doing the same just drowns out any individuality anyway.  It lets you meet new people easily so you can sign up with no friends at all and leave with hundreds.

Facebook is better for actually chatting to people and keeping in touch - bit like a mini MSN messenger with photo sharing.  Its a bit more about the people and groups than trying to make your page look all sparkly and special.  Its only really useful if you have friends already.  It works great for universities etc where you meet people through mates on nights out when youre drunk or in a big crowd.  You just check the common mates page and suddenly you know the other persons name for next time.

yeah - Im very curious what hell have done.  I really wouldnt put it past him to introduce something obvious but brilliant to it.  Like merging a Craigs list thing, a map system that links people by area or some video feature.

He always does this stuff so well.

Facebook... more so that you can get in touch and keep in touch with other people. Sure its now introduced this widget bollocks, but the premise is still the same. Allows you to maintain contact with people not just have a profile of crap.
