I was arguing with my kids at a T junction,  I pulled out, I was hit on my side at about 30 ish, my car and her mondao are right offs, but on a really good note were all OK, my kids have slight seatbelt injuries.

Thatll learn em

Seriously though, good to hear youre ok.  Although Im so never getting in a car with you :p

I think most of us have done the same sort of thing, some arent as lucky as others though. Sorry to hear of the accident but at least you are all safe :)

redneck

f**king hell mate. a short sharp hard lesson to be learnt there. sedate your kids before you drive anywhere

Clock'd 0Ne

Im glad to hear that youre okay, they wont do it again if youre lucky

knighty

glad to hear your all ok

easy fix for the kiddies now, any time they missbehave just shout "BANG" as loud as you can then scream like a girl, thatll shut em up ;)

Glad to hear youre ok.

jeez i hate people that dont concentrate or look when pulling out, now the innocent party has to go through all the hassle of insurance, possible injuries, replacing the car, hell it could have been a one off or limited run and impossible to replace.. and no doubt the insurance will pay out less than the cars worth and shell be outta pocket.

What is it with you people that just drive into intersections without paying attention? I see it all the time. Ive had one car totalled and another needed a couple panels, all because people were doing something other than looking at the road.

Glad youre OK, but you do get a big gilded dumbass award.

Glad that you are all OK.  Someone ran into the back of me a few years ago when he turned around to break up a fight between his kids.  None of us were seriously injured and my little Toyota Celica didnt show much damage considering it had just been hit by a full size Dodge van at 45 MPH.

If you have kids in the back who are playing up then sooner or later you might get distracted and end up hitting another car. Its easy enough to ease up on the breaks and shove the cars nose out if you have an automatic. S**t happens and you have to live with it.

Binary Shadow, same to you.

sh*t doesnt happen nearly as often when you make driving safely a priority. I had a guy force me from my lane at 80mph yesterday, passing me almost on the right, then positioning himself so Id be in his blind spot for a second, then swerving into where I was. On the phone the whole time. Fortunately, Im always checking my own blind spots and knew I could swerve into the left lane w/o having to check and saved both our asses. Thank god for the relatively firm suspension of the Jetta wagon, or I could have flipped. People in the south dont do lane discipline, fwiw.

Point is, that I drive in a place much more insane than the UK and most of Europe save parts of Spain and Italy, and I dont get into accidents. I had a couple over ten years ago, and both were drivers hitting me at an intersection. One time I was sitting still at a stop sign, the other time the guy ran the sign at 35mph.

This sounds like one of those completely avoidable accidents, it wasnt a blow out, or crap weather, or a drunk hit you. It wasnt "sh*t happens" but you make sh*t happen...with kids in the car.

Im not saying my turds dont stink, Ive done my share of spirited driving, but its good to stop every now and then and think about how dang serious and dangerous of an activity it really is.

A stupid  mistake, yesterday morning the traffic lights went green, I pulled away, as usual i looked right, I stopped to miss a speeding Mondao doing about 60 through a red light, now thats stupid.

I had third Party(Privelage).

Speaking to the lady involved I dont think shell struggle getting a new car, as far as injuries go shes fine, she might sue to get money.
I used to do a school run every day, my stupid mistake has cost me a car I cant afford or do without.
