How do you find a job in the computer/networking buisness? I dont even know where to start? I presume there are some websites or something? But I dont want to be crawling through thousands of shelf stacking jobs, only interested in the networking ones really. Its not actually for me to apply for a job, its for an assignment in uni. But does anyone know any sites where I can find jobs related to specific qualifications? i.e. Show networking jobs that require a CCNA?

All the job websites I have looked at have had some sort of search feature. Most of them should let you search IT jobs with CCNA as a keyword.

www.jobserve.co.uk was where I got my last 2.

I agree, put your location (prolly county is best) and a qualification you have or a area you are interested in and search.

My current boss is a right c**t though

Uni courses have these wank topics like this... and "contemporary topics" or "communications" (which isnt cool stuff like radios or networking or anything.. no.. its how to write CVs and other assorted crap.)

I agree with him, too. Nonsense like this and General Studies is what is missing in college and university esteem.

I pitied the people that sat their General Studies exams and earned less marks than someone that hadnt bothered to turn up to a single lesson, then BSd his way through it all. Their time could have been spent on something much more valuable, like the real subject qualifications they were working for.

Forget science and medicine, what we really need is more media studies and sociology.

Thing is... this isnt as bad as in school. General studies was taught at the loss of a real a level.

The uni degrees are teaching you everything you need to know, plus this pile of wank. So your not losing information for it fortunately.. its still the crappest lecture youll ever have however.

Its still time, effort and money wasted by all involved. They could put you on a five ton sh*te shovelling course and it would do more good, at least it would give people good grounding and get rid of the workshy wasters and the sort of dossers that drift through life doing the least required and blagging it at every opportunity with no ethos.

What do you actually have to do for the assignment - contacting companies direct seems to work best for me - get past the HR bitches & thier silly fliters. Normally Id find the phone number of a manager sell myself on the phone & then send the CV direct to them. Problem with careers websites is they can be hit and miss - any decent jobs can have several hundred applicants for one or two places leaving companies inviting you for tests, 2nd interviews & a whole load more gay bollocks.

1. Go to lots of websites.
2. Use keywords.
3. Fire your CV off to lotsa agencies & companies.
5. Sit back and wait for phone calls.
6. Be careful what you go for and take spoonfuls of salt with everything anyone says about the job.
