Middle East area - going down the pan?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/7076670.stm

I have a real honest worry that there will be a small world war in the not to far distant future if the instability in the middle east continues.

It may only be in the middle east but I can see all of the countries there going at it with china, Russia and US fighting there.
I think EU etc will stay clear and the middle east as the battleground but a few people at it.

In any case that area is turning into a mess with Turkey and Iraq stuff going on... Well we all know who is doing what and Iran Nuke guy quitting and them looking to be doing Nukes again, North Korea and their massive army

It may all blow over but it does not look good

First one to fall for the unnecessary forum re-org...
"Within your 'purview'? Where do you think you are, some f**king regency costume drama? This is a government department, not some f**king Jane f**king Austen novel!"

Its always been a mess though.
The west tried fixing things by drawing lines in the sand, that hasnt worked or really been accepted.

They are 2nd / 3rd world nations & should just be left to it to fight amongst themselves....... Oh we cant do that though!!!! because of the oil

The trouble with drawing lines in the sand is that the wind just keeps blowing the sand over them. Then its anyones game as to whos sand it is.

They tried to make tribes into countries, which never actually works unless the borders are put in the right locations, you cant just lump several different groups together and say its a country.

It didnt work in Yugoslavia either, where there were effectively six separate groups. Should have made Iraq into three different countries. Curds in the north should have been a single country, taking in their parts of Iraq, Iran and Turkey. The Sunni and Shia should have been separated too.

TBH it was the British who f***ed up the place, not the locals.
