What dya think about that?

"I think that we should go to the pub."

"I think we should go to the pub."

Which is better, is there a rule, and does it matter?
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Is the first not completely wrong ?

I was taught the use of the word "that" was a short hand way to identify a particular subject matter you were discussing. i.e.

[talking about a jumper]

That [jumper] would look better in green.

I will give you the word does seem to be used more commonly in modern language though. I know I use it when I shouldnt :/

...assuming I am right :)

They are both fine, its a matter of style. The word that doesnt really give anything to the sentence so I would say its better to omit it.

"pub?" and "drink?" are more correct phrases.

they can also be combined to construct more complex sentences, such as "drink? pub?"
