It rains like this all the time, the media seems to have short memories.

Where I am we seem to be fairly ok. A few flooded drains and fields but that's all, even though the South Coast is meant to have had the worst. I think the Bournemouth area was sheltered a bit by the Isle of Wight.

Same here, I think other than winds blowing me around on the M27 and a bit of heavy rain and some hail I've not noticed much of it.

Binary Shadow

High winds and heavy rain here but no real flooding aside from a few roads that don't drain well.

Pretty lucky really, don't live near any rivers.

I'm right by the river but thankfully quite uphill. We're fine but a lot of the roads are flooded and the fields are just gone!

The wind last night was the major PITA - all roads to our village blocked at one point (and one rather sweary conversation with a policeman who wouldn't let the wife drive to the house... she'd been driving in circles for 2 hours so he got both barrels!!). We're having a new kitchen and a new boiler (boiler broke 2 days before new kitchen fit..) and the skip outside was like some kind of end of level boss, spewing wood and shrapnel at anyone who went near it!! I spent nearly an hour with our neighbour securing road signs, the skip, bins and all sorts! Good community spirit though! :)
Career, Wife, Mortgage... my sig was better when it listed guitars and PC's and stuff!

Mental flooding in the towns and villages around me. Am dry here but my ~40 minute commute turned into a 2hour trip most days last week, my poor car has been up to its neck in puddles.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.
