I remember reading on here (a while back)

about a guy who when buying a new laptop from dell, powered it on, then pressed NO to the license agreement.... then emailed dell and got a refund ?   (because he was going to install Linux)

anyone got a link to it ?

or remember how much he had refunded ?

Videoing the refusal and un-installation procedure and then contacting M$ seems to be the way to do it. Dont have an actual link though.

I recently got a licence for M$ XP transferred from a terminally damaged lappy to my brothers PC for him. may be better to sell the licence on or reuse it elsewhere.

yeah, i wish itd come out of the M$ pockets too

but for Ã,£50 off the  price of the laptop is probably worth it

.... this if my sister can resist opening it up and turning it on straight away
